Penny Appeal Middle East is proud to present world renowned Comedian, Paul Chowdhry’s first ever exclusive show ‘Comedy-4-a-Cause’, across the United Arab Emirates.

Paul Chowdhry will be performing on 26th and 27th January 2020 in Dubai at VOX Cinemas Cineplex Grand Hyatt and on the 28th January 2020 at the American University of Sharjah. The shows are being held in aid of Penny Appeal’s South Africa Education Programme.

By his third nationwide tour, Chowdhry had amassed a ground-breaking figure of 150 sold out shows including performances in Australia and New Zealand. Chowdhry also claims the title for the highest viewed comedy show on Amazon Prime with his world-famous show, ‘Live Innit’.

Alongside Paul Chowdhry is Mina Liccione, Co-founder of Dubomedy. Mina is an award-winning performing artist, comedian and choreographer hailing from New York. She has been seen on Broadway in STOMP and has appeared on MTV's, The Grind; Edinburgh Fringe Festival; National Lampoon's film, Pucked; Image Nation’s, As One: The Autism Project; and acted as the comedy coach for Cirque Du Soliel's, Corteo. Emirati trail blazing award winning comedian Ali Al Sayed, the second co-founder of Dubomedy, will also perform at the event. Ali has performed in numerous shows at the iconic Comic Strip Live in New York – headlining in Caroline’s on Broadway, the New York Arab American Comedy Festival and Edinburgh Fringe Festival to name a few. He was classed as one of the “Funniest People in 2012” by Rolling Stone and was awarded “Comedian of the Year 2016” by Esquire Magazine.  He can currently be seen on Comedy Central Arabia’s Ridiculousness season 2 as well as Comedy Central Presents, where he is a co-host.

The comedy duo, Ali and Mina also founded the Clowns Who Care Project, which brings joy to centres for children with special needs, refugee camps and hospitals.

Also supporting the ‘Comedy-4-A-Cause’ exclusive shows is world beatboxer extraordinaire, MB14. Holding titles such as the 2018 World Beatbox Crew Champion and the Voice finalist, MB14 is one of the most influential beatboxers of his generation.

Comedy-4-A-Cause is raising funds for Penny Appeal’s ‘Back to School’ project in South Africa. The project will provide students from impoverished communities with essential learning resources that will help enhance both their learning experience and academic performance. The project is designed to restore dignity and confidence in learners, focusing on controllable aspects of a child educational experience. The learning experience of many South African children is far from positive as they face a number of obstacles such as limited funds and resources resulting in poor academic performance, high rates of school dropouts and absenteeism. Through this project, over 850 children will receive greater access to educational resources and equipment including school uniforms, school shoes and hygiene packs.

Tickets are priced from AED95 – AED295 and can be purchased from www.platinumlist.net
