The MARRIOTT AL JADDAF review: Oversized rooms and fine dining



After a recent spate of openings, you have to wonder if Perth has room for another five-star hotel. It doesn't take long to realise, however, that the MARRIOTT AL JADDAF has several things going in its favour. The first is its convenient location in downtown Dubai.. The second is a determination to deviate from the classic corporate vibe.

THE SPACE

Hotel lobbies can be grand or welcoming. The MARRIOTT AL JADDAF somehow manages to be both. It has the soaring ceilings, but its dimensions have an inviting feel. As with the rest of the hotel, large amounts of natural light.

THE ROOM

I have been assigned a 1 bedroom, the entry-level suite. it is bigger than the top suites in some other hotels. The lounge and dining areas are well separated from the bedroom, perfect for those times when one of you wants to sleep while the other feels like working or watching TV. 

The bed is equipped with pillows of three different densities, allowing you to choose the one that works for you. Other nice touches include blinds that rise when you enter the room.

THE FOOD

The hotel has catered for all tastes with its extensive dining options.  Restaurants include the widely-acclaimed Scot’s American Grill & Steakhouse which combines the tradition of an authentic Scottish menu with a contemporary American influence; the international buffet restaurant The Market Place, serves a wide variety of exceptional dishes offering an array of eclectic dishes with tastes from around the world; 

Aqua Chill is the ultimate spot for poolside relaxation and al fresco dining in Dubai to truly relax but it also has a breathtaking view of the city skyline; The Lobby Lounge is a relaxing space to enjoy a light meal or great cup of freshly ground coffee throughout the day; the stylish social bar Shanghai 30 is an ideal meeting venue for after work drinks and to socialize along with the local community regulars who know this as a welcoming and vibrant evening location.
